Four minutes under a clear night sky

Moonlit trees beneath the stars.

A clear night at altitude, with moonlight behind us lighting up the trees and a sky full of stars above them.

These were taken using the Pixel's astronomy mode, which gathers light over about four minutes. The result brings the trees and the sky into the same picture: pale trunks and branches below, far more stars than a quick handheld photo would show above.

A short moving view of the night sky.

The little moving version is also interesting. There are many more satellites these days than I remember from my previous stargazing days. I guess we're part of that problem with our Starlink.
