Sovereign Hill: there until closing

Sovereign Hill was an absolute delight. We arrived for opening and stayed until closing, fitting in the tours, demonstrations and historical plaques with considerable enthusiasm.
The recreated 1850s goldfields town gives you plenty to follow from one stop to the next. A horse-drawn coach passes the shopfronts, a demonstration gathers a crowd, and then there is something else being made or explained just along the street. We were very happy to keep investigating.
The clips capture some of that variety: the coach, a musket demonstration, the heat and glow of a furnace demonstration, and Shan trying the old-fashioned bowling.
No historical plaque was being left unread if Shan could help it. The two-handed bowling technique also received a thorough trial. A day well spent in Ballarat.
