Broome from above, and visitors at camp

Red shoreline from the drone.

Shan has found a very satisfying use for the drone. We visited Simpson Beach three times, with wildly different weather each time, and the aerial views brought out another set of colours and shapes in the coast.

From above, the red shore, shallow water and darker patches of vegetation form patterns that are easy to miss from ground level. It was a good place to spend time experimenting with the camera.

Back at the caravan park, the wildlife was taking care of the entertainment. An agile wallaby and a great bowerbird were welcome visitors; the peacocks were a more unexpected addition. Their honking was not something we had anticipated as part of the Broome soundtrack.

A little coastal flying, a few close-up details and a surprisingly varied collection of neighbours.
